Every year we programme quality books and author workshops in hundreds of classrooms – currently from nursery to year ten – in primary, secondary and SEND schools, often in deprived, isolated or challenged communities. Our programme model is easily tailorable and can suit ANY school in ANY circumstances, from special measures to outstanding, rural primaries to academy chains, state and independent schools. We encourage whole-school participation in primaries and SEND schools and whole key-stages in secondaries; and we actively facilitate inter-school connectivity across our national network of schools.
By joining the summer-term Pop Up Festival a school receives:

* By 2018 schools buying-in will have exclusive access to a new digital creative writing/self publishing toolkit on Pop Up Hub to facilitate pupils’ creativity, independently and in the home.
A total 51,000 pupils in 1,900 classes and 101 schools have taken part in our schools model since 2011 – and 54% of schools recommissioned the programme for two or more years.

Taking part has a tangible impact on pupil attitudes, behaviours and skills around reading and writing – as well as on teacher enjoyment, confidence, knowledge and skills – which we continue to evidence through academic and other partnerships. We also work with partner schools to connect with local arts, heritage and community spaces through the festival programme. And we seek to put a legacy in place post-participation, in the form of bespoke ‘legacy curriculums’ to embed ongoing creative, literary approaches to literacy, English and cross-curricular learning in schools.
