Chris Priestley

Chris Priestley was a cartoonist and illustrator for many years, working for The Independent, The Economist, The Observer and many other newspapers and magazines. Ever since he was a teenager, Chris has loved unsettling and creepy stories, with fond memories of buying comics like House of Mystery and Strange Tales, watching classic BBC adaptations of M R James stories every Christmas and reading all manner of assorted weirdness from Edgar Allan Poe to Ray Bradbury. The Tales of Terror series has been brilliantly received and has been translated into many languages. Tales of Terror from the Black Ship was longlisted for the Book Trust Teenage Prize 2009, the Manchester Book Award 2010 and the Doncaster Book Award 2010.  In its Dutch translation, it won a CNIB Vlag & Wimpel Award in 2010.
