Join author and illustrator Karin Littlewood in ‘Immi’s Igloo’ – an enchanting place filled with Karin’s friends including storyteller Margaret Bateson-Hill and illustrators Guy Parker-Rees, Catherine Vase, Deborah Allright, Ann Kronheimer, Clare Alexander, Richard Holland, Annie Hudson, Sophie Herxheimer and Nicola Killen. Shows begin with musical dance performances from The Place and Guildhall School of Music – look out for dancers in the crowd at 11am, 1.15pm and 3.45pm, and they’ll lead you into Immi’s magical world.

Are you a budding magician’s apprentice? Then look no further: magicians from The Magic Circle’s Young Magician’s Club will teach you magic tricks to amaze your friends and family! Workshops are for 7-16 year-olds and run for 45 minutes each.

Little Angel Theatre are world-famous for their puppet theatre in Islington – and some of their puppeteers will be here to help you make puppets of your own! Drop into one of their short puppet-making sessions throughout the day, up until 4.00pm.

Show-stopping ‘Peter Pan in Scarlet’ author Geraldine McCaughrean leads a troupe of actors and artistes to build a brand new story throughout the day. Help Geraldine and friends muster the ingredients of story, and cook up a brand new myth!

Enter author Philip Ardagh’s ‘House of Illusions’, a phantasmagorical Victorian world of magical mystery and illusion – where you should never trust your eyes! Prepare to meet a conjuror, a magician and a bizarre musician, along with the finest array of storytelling authors, including the remarkable Eleanor Updale and the spine-tingling Chris Priestley. More special appearances will be announced on the day!

Kingsmead Primary School performs ‘The Apartheid’ – a rhyming script about life in the UK and war-torn Afghanistan.

Former Children’s Laureate Michael Rosen presents a mixed-bill of art, magic, poetry and music throughout the day, featuring artist Herve Tullet, magician Ian Saville, poet Valerie Bloom – and, to finish the day, Michael and the Homemade Orchestra. The show opens with the showman himself!

Poet and SLAM artistic director Joelle Taylor leads a master-class in performance poetry for 12-16 year-olds. You’ll learn beatbox, poly vocal poetry, free verse and performance skills – and final pieces will be filmed for the SLAMBassadors UK YouTube site! Workshop leads to a showcase of work at 4.30pm.

Come and join the amazing artist, painter, book-creator from France, Herve Tullet, and help him create a giant canvas to illustrate Michael Rosen’s space!
