Festival of Stories National Tour 2014

An eclectic melee of children’s writers, illustrators, poets and storytellers entertained and inspired 12,000 children and their families at Ironbridge Gorge in Shropshire, High House Production Park in Essex, and Swiss Cottage creative quarter in 2014. Each festival offered over 100 hours of activities, through programmes designed and curated by children’s writers, illustrators, poets and storytellers. 2014’s curators including writer-translator Sarah Ardizzone, novelists Sita Brahmachari and Julia Golding, fantasy author Sarwat Chadda, performance poets Kayo Chingonyi and Zena Edwards, picture book illustrators Thomas Docherty, James Mayhew, Ken Wilson-Max, Jane Ray and Ed Vere, and oral storytellers Usifu Jalloh and Rich Sylvester. The artists’ visions were brought to life by a team of designers and volunteers brought together by Royal Opera House Bridge.
