Showcase:
Billie Kaur Richardson
Billie loves to draw, sometimes taking simple doodles and creating expressive, witty and humorous illustrations. A self-taught artist, Billie can draw quickly and expressively with a traditional pencil or directly onto a digital tablet. She likes to use traditional media like acrylics and pencils but enjoys experimenting with new media too, recently creating works with machine embroidery.
Billie is thrilled to be selected as a Mentee for the unique Pathways Into Children’s Publishing programme. She is looking forward to learning how to improve her work and to working as a professional illustrator.
Born in London and now living in Hertfordshire, when Billie is not drawing or doodling, she can be found cooking flatbreads and delicious low-cost meals or working on her graphic novel. Billie has created and self-published two cookery books and illustrated a book of fun poems for children.

I am thrilled to be selected as a mentee for the Pathways programme. I look forward to developing my illustration skills and making valuable industry contacts. Learning how the world of publishing operates directly from successful authors, illustrators, art directors, university lecturers and other publishing professionals is an extraordinary and exciting opportunity.
