Claire Belfield
Claire is a 28-year-old art educator and aspiring illustrator, who is proud of her mixed Irish and Guyanese heritage. She has lived in Northwest London all her life and was also the first person in her family to attend university to pursue an arts degree. She studied Fine Art at Goldsmiths university in 2016 and completed a PGCE for secondary school teaching Art & Design.
Claire has ambitions to broaden character representation in stories particularly for young adults and children. Inclusivity really drives Claire’s practice as an artist – expect to see a lot of bold colour, linework and cultural influences.

I am thrilled to be accepted onto the Pathway’s programme. To be given the opportunity to learn with industry experts and work collaboratively with other illustrators is any artist's dream. I am excited to see how my work progresses over the next two years within this amazing community.
